Challenge Objective :

The objective of this challenge is to minimize the operating cost of an hybrid vehicle. In this way, the fuel consumption and the main degradations will be taking into account to realize an efficient energy management. You can find the related VPPC paper here.

The challenge focuses on the energy management of a Fuel Cell/Battery Vehicle. Both Academic and Professional teams are welcomed to participate in this challenge.

The aim of this challenge is to develop a robust Energy Management Strategy to increase the energy sources' lifetime and to minimize the hydrogen consumption according several rules. In this way, the simulation model and control will be provided to the challenge participants (download the Matlab Simulink downloadable program) .

The top scoring participants will be distinguished and invited to present their results in a special session at the 2017 IEEE VPPC.

The important dates of the challenge are:

  • December 15th 2016: closing date for registration
  • January 15th 2017, at 23h59 UTC (this date will not be extended due to the challenge context): Energy Management Strategy submision deadline
  • February 2017: Results
