Call for Abstracts

Addiction and the Family International Network (AFINet) is pleased to announce a bilingual call for abstracts for the 6th Annual Conference: AFINet 2025: Addiction, Family Members, and Affected Others.

The event will be held May 21-23, 2025 at Université Laval in Quebec City, Canada.

This event is an opportunity to share your research, clinical, and lived experiences in the field of addiction with national and international experts from a wide range of disciplines.

Abstracts from all disciplines and interests in the field of addiction, including research, practice, policy and related areas, are welcome. International submissions are also strongly encouraged.

The call for abstracts is for May 22 and 23 only, as May 21 is a pre-conference day, with various workshops on the program.

Conference Themes

We invite speakers to submit proposals aligned with AFINET's mission to promote the well-being of family members, friends, and colleagues affected by a loved one's use of alcohol, substances or gambling.

Presentations should address the impact of these addictions on those around the affected individuals, as well as support and intervention strategies to improve the quality of life for those affected. Themes may also include the exploring of public policies designed to support these family members and meet their specific needs.

Presentation Formats

Five presentation formats are available:
