Our programs essentially offer research training that takes place in a laboratory, under the supervision of a researcher or a team of researchers. It is mandatory to have established communication with a researcher and obtained their acceptance, for any request admission be considered. We recommend that any candidate for admission ensure that they have obtained acceptance from one of our supervisors, before completing and paying for an admission application.
1) Minimal cumulative average* :
Canadian students
At least 3.0/4.3 or the equivalent.
International students
At least 3.0/4.3 or the equivalent.
*Provided that a researcher in CMB from UQTR confirms he can welcome and supervise the student in its research team
2) Anterior university education or experience:
For program 1662 (MSc in CMB)
University path
Undergrad university diploma in biochemistry, biology, medical biology or similar discipline, with a cumulative average of at least 3.0/4.3 or the equivalent. Depending on the courses taken during these undergrad studies and their grades, a few refresher courses may be needed.
Experiencepath
Knowledge background and experience will be considered.
For program 1694 (PhD in CMB)
University path
MSc or the equivalent in cellular and/or molecular biology, or in a related domain such as biology and biochemistry.
or
Undergrad university diploma in chemistry, cellular biology or related domain and mastering of the appropriate knowledge, with at least three years of relevant training.
3) Letter of acceptance from a researcher
The candidate will dedicate most of its time to the realization of a research project. For that, he must be accepted in the lab/team of a researcher from UQTR who supervises students in the cellular and molecular biology graduate programs. The procedure for candidates to find a supervisor is explained in the next section (following a click on the right arrow below).
