Registration required for each successive term until recommendation for diploma

Registration is mandatory to maintain your active student status in your program of study. It must be completed in advance and continuously for each of the three terms of each academic year, until you have been recommended for graduation. Failure to register for the next term may result in automatic exclusion from the program of study. Registration for a session is carried out by the student themselves, from their course portal. The process involves the following steps:

1. Open the computerized registration tool in your student portal and ensure that there are no missing forms or unpaid balances on your file

To open the registration tool: access your student portal, then click on: Dossier universitaire/Admission et inscription/Inscription, modification, annulation de cours.

Select the quarter for which the registration is intended and if an error message appears, you must first check that these three mandatory forms Choix de direction de recherche, choix de sujet de recherche, plan global d'études, have been completed, signed, validated by the program management and filed in your progress file (they are then accessible to you via your student portal). You must also check if there is an outstanding balance on your file and, if so, make the corresponding payment. Late fees may then apply.

2. Choose the study regime and select the appropriate courses

When registering for the upcoming semester, you must choose between two study plans: full-time or part-time. Both are permitted during the Master's and PhD programs in Cellular and Molecular Biology and can be alternated throughout the program, as needed. Full-time status provides access to the maximum benefits. Full-time status is mandatory for international students.

Then, you must select, if applicable, the course(s) to be taken during the targeted term. It is based on your overall study plan that you will know which courses must be selected and in which terms. During some terms, no courses may be required and then you will be considered to be devoting yourself entirely to the completion of your research project.

3. Pay the tuition fees applicable to your registration for a given term

Tuition fees cover course registration fees if applicable, related fees, association fees, general registration fees and insurance costs.

To find out the amount of your tuition fees, go to your student portal, on Dossier universitaire/État du dossier/État de compte, select the session then click on « Obtenir l'état de compte ». Doctoral students who benefit from the exemption from increased fees (up to and including the 9th term of registration, as long as your cumulative average is at least 3.5/4.3), must calculate the adjusted amount of registration fees that they must actually pay by subtracting from the total amount indicated on their statement, the amount entered on line "Forfaitaires".

To avoid late fees and the blocking of your registration for a future session, it is important that UQTR receives all payments due before their due dates. UQTR is not responsible for postal delays. Please allow 10 business days for electronic or postal payments to be processed and for your account status to be updated.
