Mon programme de recherche s’inscrit dans une perspective d’écologie sociale visant à promouvoir la santé mentale positive des jeunes. J’examine quelles croyances relatives au stress et à l’anxiété sont socialement transmises par les environnements familiaux, scolaires et socioculturels, et comment ces messages contribuent à définir le stress et l’anxiété comme des expériences menaçantes ou potentiellement utiles.
Je m’intéresse ensuite à la manière dont ces croyances influencent la façon dont les jeunes interprètent, vivent et régulent les défis quotidiens, tant sur les plans psychologique (identité, cognitions, émotions), physiologique (réactivité hormonale et cardiovasculaire) que comportemental (engagement, performance). Portée par un désir de faire de la science pouvant avoir des applications réelles, j’investigue aussi comment des interventions brèves visant à ajuster ces croyances peuvent favoriser des réponses plus adaptatives face aux défis.
Finalement, la méta-science constitue un de mes champs d'intérêt additionnels. Je porte un regard critique sur nos méthodes et pratiques de recherche en santé mentale dans l’objectif de les raffiner et d’en améliorer la rigueur, la validité et l’impact.
