This course will focus primarily on structural aspects of the sentence and grammatical analysis. As a follow-up to Grammar I, it will deal with different types of sentences and how they are constructed, and will also cover a few comparative aspects of English and French grammar and syntax. The following aspects will be covered: sentence construction, clauses and types of clauses, coordination, subordination, conjunctions, parallelism, punctuation, word choice, levels of usage, word division. As in Grammar I, emphasis will be placed on both written and oral exercises.
