Mapping Medea
Revolutions and Transfers 1750-1800

Edited by Anna Albrektson and Fiona Macintosh

  • Studies the impact in eighteenth-century Europe and the wider world of one of the most notorious women in Greek myth
  • Provides a detailed and rich account of complex transcultural transfer
  • Brings much rare material from a range of archives across continental Europe to critical attention for the first time
  • Identifies the point at which modern interpretations of Medea as a mother first begin to emerge
