Abdennour Amroune from ERICCA sucessfully presented his Ph.D Thesis. His Ph.D work is focused on an Automated Lofting-Based Reconstruction of CAD Models from 3D Topology Optimization Results

Adrien Couture from ERICCA sucessfully presented his Ph.D Thesis. His Ph.D work is focused on micro modeling and simulation of heterogeneous materials.

Mahdi Mejri from ERICCA sucessfully presented his Ph.D Thesis. His Ph.D work is focused on an experimental and numerical study of hygrothermal aging effects on mechanical and fatigue behaviors of a short natural-fiber-reinforced composite.

ERICCA received the 2017 CAD international conference best paper award, which took place in Okayama Japan (August 10-12 2017).

Sasan Sattarpanah Karganroudi from ERICCA sucessfully presented his Ph.D Thesis yesterday (june 28th 2017). His Ph.D work is focused on automating the fixtureless inspection of non-rigid parts.

ERICCA welcomes a new Ph.D student at 2017 winter semester. Abdennour Amroune (on the left in the picture) will work on the automatic construction of geometric models from topology optimization results.

ERICCA will host the 2017 Virtual Concept International Workshop at Université du Québec à Trois Rivières on 1st - 2d, June, 2017. This edition of the workshop will focus on "Numerical Approach for Digitalization of Product Engineering"

8 ERICCA members attended the 7th Quebec workshop on numerical product development (with Professor Walid Ghie from UQAT on the picture) at École Polytechnique de Montréal.

Professors, graduate students, engineers and researchers attended the 7th Quebec workshop on numerical product development (May the 4th 2016). This workshop took place at École Polytechnique de Montréal and was organised, with ERICCA, by Professor François Guibault from Polytehnique. This workshop was founded by ERICCA in 2007 and it is now held on a regular basis (every two years). The 8th workshop should be hosted in May 2018 at École de Technologie Supérieure in Montréal.

Adrien Couture also ranked 1st in the 2016 engineering poster contest (PhD) and won the AGE prize for graduate studies in UQTR 2016 poster contest.

Anis Zeggar from ERICCA graduated in february 2016 at the M.Sc level (UQTR M.Sc in engineering - mechanical engineering concentration). The scope of his research work was on developing a growing-reforming procedure based on quadratic shell finite elements.

The second edition of Professor Jean-Christophe Cuillière's Finite Element Analysis book is realased in February 2016. This book (in french) is entitled "Introduction à la méthode des éléments finis" and its first edition has been released in August 2011.

Congratulations to Adrien Couture, Ph.D student with team ERICCA, who wins a 7000$ scholarship of excellence from UQTR on entering the Ph.D program in engineering.

ERICCA welcomes two new students at 2015 fall semester. Abdelkader Khamchane as Ph.D student and Luciana Ferreira Silva as Post-doc. Both will work on experimental and numerical studies of aging processes (essentially UV and hygrothermal) of composite materials reinforced by natural fibers.

ERICCA student Sasan Sattarpanah Karganroudi will help SAE BAJA UQTR team in the design of their 2015-2016 vehicle. He will particularly be involved in frame design and FEA simulations.

Prof Philippe Pilvin has been visiting ERICCA for a one week mission on october 26th. Prof Pilvin is from Laboratoire d'ingénierie des matériaux de Bretagne, LIMATB (http://www-limatb.univ-ubs.fr/). He acts as Ph.D co-supervisor (with Prof Cuillière and Prof Vincent François) of Adrien Couture from ERICCA. This research collaboration between LIMATB and ERICCA targets modelling random heterogeneous materials with finite element analysis (FEA).

A new short paper published by ERICCA on the website of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE Plastics Research Online): Water uptake and its effect on biocomposites

Adrien Couture from ERICCA graduated in April 2015 at the M.Sc level (UQTR M.Sc in engineering - mechanical engineering concentration). He did his MSc research work at UQTR Laboratoire de Mécanique et Éco-Matériaux (LMEM). The scope of his research was developing a new flax/paper/PLA composite and studying its mechanical properties.

Jérôme Gervais-Lavoie from ERICCA graduated in April 2015 at the M.Sc level (UQTR M.Sc in engineering - mechanical engineering concentration). The scope of his research work was on applying the growing-reforming procedure to the optimization of bicycle frames.
