Introduction
Your participation in this research project, which aims to understand better students' entrepreneurial intentions and aspirations for a career as an entrepreneur, would be greatly appreciated. However, before agreeing to participate in this project and proceeding to the questionnaire, please take the time to read this information sheet. It will help you understand what is involved in your possible participation in the research so that you can make an informed decision. This sheet may contain words you do not understand. We invite you to e-mail any questions you may have to the researcher in charge of this research project or a member of his or her research team. Feel free to ask them to explain any unclear words or information. Before deciding, take all the time you need to read and understand this form.
Research project summary and objectives
The present research is part of the international GUESSS consortium, which aims to generate new knowledge on student entrepreneurship through practice-oriented academic studies. The study is conducted via a centrally managed online survey, which includes validated and up-to-date measurement instruments. The questionnaire refers to several dimensions (e.g., well-being, entrepreneurial intention, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, etc.). The questionnaire is aimed at everyone, including students considering becoming entrepreneurs and those who are already (or in the process of becoming) entrepreneurs.
Nature and duration of participation
Your participation in this research project involves completing a 15-minute online questionnaire.
Risks and inconveniences
There are no risks associated with your participation. The only drawback is the time required to complete the questionnaire, which is around 15 minutes.
Advantages or benefits
Participating in this research will enable the university to assess the effectiveness of its entrepreneurship programs and improve them to serve students better.
Compensation or incentive
Completing the questionnaire will allow you to enter the lottery, where 10 people will be drawn to win $100 each. Once data collection is complete, an Interac transfer will be made to the winners. You will also be offered the opportunity to receive the national report, which will be produced in the spring of 2024.
Confidentiality
The data collected in this study is confidential and will not, under any circumstances, lead to your identification. The research results, which may be disseminated as a summary report, will not allow participants to be identified. The data collected will be kept in statistical condition. The people who will have access to it will be the principal investigator, Prof. Etienne St-Jean, and the professors representing the partner universities. All these people have signed a confidentiality agreement. The data may be used in future research projects if you consent at the end of the questionnaire.
Voluntary participation
Your participation in this study is voluntary. You are entirely free to participate or withdraw without explanation. The consent to participate in the project does not deprive you of any right to legal recourse in the event of research-related harm. Whether or not you participate will not affect your academic record.
