Définition UEC

Definition

The continuing education service and off-campus training of the Université du Québec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR) emits, within the scope of non-credited coursework, a certificate of continuing education unit (UEC-UQTR). This certificate corresponds to ten hours of participation and of work during training, meeting high quality criteria.

Quality criteria of the UEC-UQTR

  • A non-credited training activity is set-up in order to meet a specific need, as pre-defined by UQTR or by an outside source (partners, agencies, businesses or individuals);
  • Each training activity, workshop, conference, seminar or symposium is defined by a precise description and by distinct learning goals;
  • The targeted audience is determined for each activity;
  • The training is designed, overseen and dispensed by specialised instructors;
  • The instructor must validate the perception and the good comprehension of the conveyed skills or knowledge throughout the coursework

The UEC-UQTR attestation

The SFCFHC bestows an UQTR attestation to persons who have taken part in over 80% of a training activity. The attestation bears the UEC-UQTR seal and mentions, at the least, the name of the participant, the title of the training, the objectives, the name of the instructor, the number of continuing education units related to the activity and the date.

Advantages of the UEC-UQTR attestation

For the participant, the attestation represents a formal recognition of his or her participation in a targeted, academic-type training activity. In addition to acknowledging his or her competences, the UEC-UQTR allows the bearer to accumulate training and to prepare a file. For an employer, the UEC-UQTR is first and foremost a way to achieve better pedagogical and administrative management of his or her employees' training.

* The policy regarding continuing education and off-campus training adopted by UQTR in May 2011 states that: "The VREPCASA entrusts the SFCFHC with the mandate of insuring the development, the organisation, the administration and the promotion of the offer of the following course work: continuing education, off-campus training. The SFCFHC is the sole office receiving and handling all continuing education requests. The education deanships, the departments, the professors, the lecturers and the administrative units that receive direct requests concerning continuing education must pass them on to the SFCFHC. The latter will ensure communication with the training applicant and will initiate, in collaboration with the academic units if needed, the process leading to the drafting of the requested training."
