ISECS logo

The ISECS logo is based upon an eighteenth-century printer’s ornament (also known by the French term fleuron), as used in books to mark the end of a section or chapter. The handshake symbolises shared endeavour on equal terms. It was used, for example, in the insignia of the Literary Society of Sopron (located in present-day Hungary, close to the Austrian border: German city name Ödenburg).
