ISECS - International Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies

The International Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, founded at the initiative of Theodore Besterman, promotes the growth, development and coordination of studies and research relating to the eighteenth century in all aspects of its cultural heritage (historical, philosophical, ideological, religious, linguistic, literary, scientific, artistic, juridical) in all countries, without exception; the Society is non-profit and non-political.

PRESIDENCY

Professor Penelope Corfield (United Kingdom) was elected president of ISECS in 2019.

 

ISECS INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS

International congresses take place every 4 years attracting between 600 and 1,200 participants. The next congress will be held in Rome in 2023.

 

The ISECS website is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): 1. we hold and keep e-mail addresses securely; 2. we use them only and exclusively to inform our members of some of our activities, and less than once per year on average; we guarantee that under no circumstances will the data be shared with third parties.
