A program designed for professionals

The Teacher program is a two-week French immersion program designed for teachers and professionals.

French courses are given every morning of the week. In the afternoon, participants attend various specialized workshops and/or conferences. Lively and diversified socio-cultural activities are also scheduled over the three week period. Discover Trois-Rivières and its surroundings, Quebec City, Montreal and much more!

There will be a placement test to determine your level of proficiency.

admission requirements and registration

To be eligible, you must fulfill the following criteria:

  • must be at least 17 years old;
  • Hold a level of French equivalent to a minimum of B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR).

    To register, you must send us the following documents:

    CANADIANS :

    • The admission and registration form including a photocopy of your birth certificate or proof of your Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status (minimum size 4” X 6”, both sides if applicable).
    • The code of conduct and residence regulations form
    • The online placement test.

    NON-CANADIANS :

    • The admission and registration form including a photocopy of your passport (minimum size 4” X 6”) and a photocopy of your health insurance policy (showing the start date and the expiry date).

    Courses

    The Teacher program focuses on developing proficiency in the four areas of language skills (speaking, listening, writing and reading). It aims at the improvement of written and spoken French according to the specific needs of the clientele by providing grammatical, lexical and cultural tools to enable the students to communicate accurately in the classroom as well as in daily life.

    Duration of the course : 45 hours

    At the end of the program, the students receive a transcript from the UQTR. Canadian students get 3 university credits.

    Arrival

    Participant check-in will take place on the Sunday prior to the start of the program, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, in the Albert Tessier pavilion

    Departure

    Student departure is scheduled for the last Friday of the program, before noon.

    Lodging

    Participants are accomodated in student residences located on campus, just a short walk from the main building where most of the activities will take place.

    Each apartment consists of four bedrooms, along with a shared kitchen, living room, and bathroom. In each of the bedrooms, there is a single bed (bedding and pillow included), a work desk, and a closet. Students share their apartment with other participants from the same program of the same gender.

    *Kitchen accessories, such as utensils and cooking equipment, are not provided.

    Washers and dryers are available in the basements of each residential building.

    Free Internet access (WIFI) is available in all rooms.

    Nourriture

    meals

    Healthy and balanced meals are prepared for you every weekday (from Monday to Friday). An allowance will be given in installments to cover a part of the food expenses during your stay. 

    Please note that the cafeteria is not opened on weekends.
