The Executive Committee is composed of the Director and one regular member from each of contributing institution. Its mandate is to develop and apply GRIL research policies, oversee the general scientific organisation of the cluster, recruit new members, promote joint projects and the co-supervision of students, administer research funds and coordinate the various committees.
This committee is composed of the GRIL Director and a coordinating members of each research axis. Its mandate is to coordinate collective GRIL scientific activities, to periodically re-evaluate research orientations and the means by which scientific activities are executed.
This committee is composed of one member from each contributing institution, when possible. This committee generates ideas, organizes and coordinates scientific activities (thematic and training workshops, scientific outreach activities, speaker invitations) and social activities targeting GRIL student members. These activities aim to foster the students’ sense of belonging to GRIL.
The role of this committee is to promote good practice in research data management. Its main mandate is to supervise the establishment and management of a digital platform to facilitate sharing of research data of GRIL members via an open access to metadata.
This committee is composed of the Lab Director of each university pole that runs a GRIL analytical laboratory and the associated technicians. Its mandate is to coordinate the development and use of infrastructure, equipment and analytical services. It evaluates periodically the available resources with respect to needs, and crafts applications for the financing of new equipment. It is also responsible for updating GRIL’s current infrastructure.
This committee is composed of the GRIL liaison officer, three regular GRIL members and four external members selected from the pool of research end-users. Its main mandate is to promote, ensure and coordinate the dissemination and transfer of knowledge for research end-users and the public.
The members of the Steering Committee are international experts in several of the focal research areas of the GRIL. Their role is to provide counsel in structuring the GRIL’s scientific program. They are chosen on the basis of their experience and scientific leadership as well as international reknown. The members of this committee receive our annual reports and are referred to when re-evaluating our research program.
The Board of Director’s mandate is to appoint the GRIL Director upon the recommendation of a selection committee, to appoint members of the Executive Committee upon the Director’s recommendation, to review the cluster’s policies, its annual budget, the nomination of new members, the annual report and the hiring of administrative and scientific staff.
