He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at the University of Almería (UAL), Spain. He holds a PhD in Education (International Mention, Extraordinary Award) and received the First National Award for Excellence in Academic Performance for his undergraduate studies. A former FPU and Margarita Salas fellow, he has completed 26 months of international research stays, notably at Nottingham Trent University and the Centre of Excellence in Responsible Gaming (UK).

His research examines the psychosocial determinants of body image and exercise, specializing in advanced quantitative methods including psychometrics, meta-analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). He has authored 75 articles (66 JCR-indexed, 55% Q1), holding lead authorship positions (first or last author) in over half of them. He has also published 8 books and 13 chapters. His metrics include an h-index of 20 (Scopus) and 18 (WoS). He participates in competitive national projects and R&D contracts. An IABIH member since 2018, he serves as Associate Editor for Espiral and acts as an international grant evaluator.
