Adrián Paterna is a university professor in the field of Didactics of Body Expression at the University of Valladolid, located in north-central Spain. His research focuses on adolescents' body image, specifically examining the processes involved in the internalization of body ideals and their connections to eating disorders, behavioral addictions, mental health, and academic performance. Most of his scientific output is based on systematic reviews and meta-analyses, as well as the design and validation of psychometric instruments, which has enabled him to provide solid and useful evidence for decision-making in educational and clinical contexts. He has authored more than sixty publications, including journal articles, book chapters, and books, many of which have appeared in high-impact journals.
