The main purpose of the visit is to promote the guest researcher's professional development by providing an environment conducive to developing their research skills, deepening their methodological knowledge, and enriching their expertise. It also serves to strengthen scientific collaboration, facilitate the transfer of knowledge and practices between research teams, and actively contribute to the advancement of work and the dissemination of results.

The aim of the internship is to enable the intern to put into practice the theoretical and methodological tools acquired during their training, identify their skills, and reinforce their professional goals.

Find the person who will supervise your arrival at UQTR.

Once the terms of the placement have been agreed upon with the supervisor, complete the agreement template that applies to your situation.

Complete the required documents with the supervisor for your stay, obtain the necessary signatures, and return them to our team for final signature by the UQTR.

Visit Canada Working in Canada
- Work Permit:
If it is determined that you require an employer-specific Work Permit, you must notify our team in order to create the job offer number in IRCC system to be included with your Work Permit Application. You will need to complete and return the Information Form to initiate the process of creating a job offer. More info, visit Work permit exempt from the LMIA. - Passport:
You must have a passport that is valid for more than six months after the planned end of your stay. - Warning:
You must obtain the required travel authorization before planning your trip to Canada.

Admission to UQTR
All the supporting documents mentioned above must be sent by email to gdd@uqtr.ca in one email (please CC stage.recherche@uqtr.ca) to proceed with your admission to UQTR. This step registers you in the university system. By default, the system will give you the title of “Research Intern”.

* By default, UQTR enrolls all research interns in its International Student Medical Insurance Plan. If you already have equivalent coverage, you must provide proof of this at the time of enrollment to avoid paying the fees. Proof must include your name, coverage details, and validity period.
A UQTR officer will confirm your admission within 3 to 5 working days. Admission will allow you to activate the student portal, activate your @uqtr.ca e-mail address, obtain the secure Wi-Fi code, access the library and its digital resources, access certain restricted access research facilities, etc.velle fenêtre)
