RISQ is fuelled by the questions and concerns of stakeholders. It stands out for its ability to work on various research objectives within longstanding and solid partnerships in the field. RISQ involves not only researchers from universities or practice settings but also clinicians, students and research professionals. Its ultimate goal is to contribute to the development of more effective strategic interventions for people with, or at risk of, substance abuse problems. As such, it attaches much importance to knowledge transfer and training activities, a mark of uniqueness.
The 2021-25 program « Substance abuse : Better understanding for better intervention » includes various works falling under three research axes:
Research Axis 1 : Enhance understanding of determinants of development and recovery trajectories of overconsumption patterns
Research Axis 2 : Develop and evaluate the effectiveness of targeted intervention strategies
Research Axis 3 : Understand, evaluate and contribute to the improvement of service organization models and of public policies affecting the well-being of people using psychoactive substances
