Welcome to  VTS Motor Vehicles Challenge  2018

The IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières, Argonne National Laboratory, FCLAB Research federation, FEMTO-ST Institute, University of Lille and MEGEVH (French scientific network on HEVs) are proud to launch the 2nd IEEE VTS Motor Vehicles Challenge 2018.

We are currently processing the reminders of the Autonomie license requests, which should be sent out shortly. Thank you for sending the signed copy back ASAP.
Due to this slight delay, we’ll extend the submission deadline to send your solution by 2 weeks to March 16.

Challenge Objective (see the IEEE VPPC related paper) :

The objective of this challenge is to minimize the operating cost of an hybrid vehicle. In this way, the fuel consumption and the battery recharge cost will be taking into account to realize an efficient energy management.

The challenge focuses on the energy management of an Range Extender Electric Vehicle (RE-EV). Both Academic and Professional teams are welcomed to participate in this challenge. 

The aim of this challenge is to develop a robust Energy Management Strategy to minimize the fuel (gazoline) consumption and to optimize the battery usage according to several rules. In this way, a simulation program based on Autonomie, a vehicle system simulation sofware developped by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Argonne National Laboratory will be provided to the participants.

The top scoring participants will be distinguished and invited to present their results in a special session at the 2018 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference (VPPC).
